Workers’ Rights: Dignity, Fairness, and Economic Freedom
Our Vision
Workers create the wealth of this country—and they deserve security, dignity, and time to live their lives. A strong economy is one where people are paid fairly, treated with respect, and protected from exploitation. We will modernize labor laws for the 21st century and put working people back at the center of our economy.
A 32-Hour Work Week With the Same Pay
Move to a 32-hour work week with no loss in pay. Studies have shown that a 32 hour work week does not result in a loss of productivity, but does greatly increase quality of life.
Share productivity gains with workers instead of hoarding them at the top.
Improve work-life balance, mental health, and family stability while maintaining economic growth.
Guaranteed Time Off and Paid Leave
Guarantee at least three weeks of paid vacation for all workers.
Establish three months of paid parental leave for every new parent.
Ensure paid sick leave so no one is forced to choose between their health and their paycheck.
A Living Wage Economy
Raise the minimum wage to a true living wage.
Tie wages to productivity and cost of living so pay keeps up with reality.
Establish a median family wage standard so one full-time job can support a family.
Ending At-Will Employment
End at-will employment and require just cause for termination. Employers expect two weeks notice from their employees but will happily fire them without notice or cause. This must end.
Protect workers from arbitrary firing, retaliation, and discrimination.
Guarantee due process, transparency, and the right to challenge unfair dismissal.
Stronger Worker Protections and Rights
Expand the right to organize, unionize, and bargain collectively.
Crack down on wage theft, misclassification, and labor law violations.
Strengthen workplace safety standards and enforcement.
Protect gig workers and contract workers from exploitation.
Respecting Workers Across All Industries
Ensure protections apply to part-time, temporary, domestic, agricultural, and tipped workers.
Support caregivers and unpaid labor with real economic recognition.
Modernize labor laws to reflect how people actually work today.
Our Commitment
Workers’ rights are human rights. By shortening the work week, guaranteeing paid leave, ending at-will employment, and ensuring fair wages, we can build an economy that works for people—not just profits. When workers thrive, families thrive, and democracy grows stronger.
