Meet Dominic
I am a husband, father, and civil servant working for the Washington State Dept of Commerce. I work as a Grant Program Coordinator, helping manage millions in grant funding for renewable energy projects all across our beautiful state. In 2024 I was the Chair of the Thurston County Citizens Commission for Public Salaries. I received my Bachelors in Political Science from Oregon State University in 2022.
More about me personally, I was born and raised in Portland. I have a beautiful wife and baby girl. I have a dog named Watson & a cat named Calypso. I love Dungeons and Dragons, Warhammer, & Marvel (particularly the X-Men.) I have been a huge Seahawks & Trail Blazers fan my entire life, and I’m also a big Portland Thorns and OL Reign fan.
I am a Democratic Socialist running on a progressive, grassroots campaign platform prioritizing fighting the Trump administration and Republican party at every step, abolishing ICE and holding them accountable, ensuring healthcare and affordable housing for all, bringing back the middle class by increasing wages, creating a single payer healthcare system, increasing educational standards, and confronting climate change head on.
I first became invested in politics in 2015, in high school, when a Senator from Vermont named Bernie Sanders ran for the Democratic nomination for president. It was the first time I was truly inspired to become involved in the political process. He ran on a simple platform. Holding billionaires accountable and making them pay their fair share while creating a country that works for everyone. What began as a longshot campaign turned into a nationwide progressive movement. Among the most important of his messages was that it was imperative that young people become involved in the political process. It was a message that I took to heart.
I have devoted my life to public service. I worked retail full time so I could study Political Science at OSU, I volunteered for Oregon State Senator Mark Meek’s campaign, I chaired the Thurston County Citizens Commission for Public Salaries, I am a member of the Thurston County Democrats, I work for the Washington State Department of Commerce, and I now wish to further serve my country in the US Congress.
