Education: Investing in Our Future

Our Vision

Education is the foundation of a strong democracy and a thriving economy. Every child—no matter their zip code—deserves a world-class public education, and every student should be able to pursue higher education without a lifetime of debt. Despite that, America has been falling behind for decades. We will raise standards, invest in schools, respect educators, and put students—not corporations and politics—first.

Raising Educational Standards Nationwide

  • Set high, consistent national standards that prepare students for college, careers, and civic life.

  • Invest in evidence-based curricula, literacy, STEM education, arts, and critical thinking.

  • Ensure schools have the resources to meet standards—not punish students or teachers for underfunding.

  • Stop Republicans from banning books that teach critical thinking.

Fully Funding Public Schools

  • Dramatically increase federal funding for public K–12 education.

  • Close funding gaps between wealthy and low-income districts.

  • Modernize school buildings so classrooms are safe, accessible, and equipped with up-to-date technology.

Respecting and Paying Teachers

  • Raise teacher pay nationwide so educators earn professional, family-sustaining wages. Our teachers should never struggle to get by on their salary.

  • Support collective bargaining and strong labor protections for educators and school staff.

  • Reduce burnout by lowering class sizes and providing adequate support staff.

Classrooms That Actually Work

  • Ensure every classroom is properly stocked with books, supplies, technology, and learning materials.

  • End the practice of teachers paying out of pocket to support their students.

  • Expand access to counselors, librarians, nurses, and special education services.

Free Public Higher Education

  • Make public colleges and universities tuition-free. We cannot expect young people to have to take on life long debt in order to pursue a higher education.

  • Cancel crushing student debt and expand need-based aid.

  • Invest in vocational training, apprenticeships, and community colleges.

Healthy, Free School Meals for Every Student

  • Guarantee free and nutritious breakfast’s and lunch’s for all students.

  • End contracts that allow corporations to profit by serving unhealthy, low-quality food to children.

  • Replace processed meals with fresh, nutritious food prepared in school kitchens.

  • Invest in professional cooks, nutritionists, and chefs—modeled after successful programs in countries like France.
